Safeway

Message: As far as grocers go, it is fair. It is a very dark store, strangely. The clientele is a difficult thing if you don't communicate in grunts, elbows and snarls. I find it hard to shop with such rude people. The employees are superb. I cannot fathom how they can stay kind and keep a smile while being berated by customers- every time I have been in, at least one is belittled for something. Please treat them better, people. It is not that hard.

Message: We go there for senior day and really can save. Plus we never have had a confrontation about being over 55 like we have at the other grocery store on senior day, which we do not go to anymore. Very friendly cashiers and can get through the check out lines fairly quickly.

Message: Almost every employee is amazing. Sadly some departments aren't very good. Mainly the produce and the main store manager rather be outside than trying to keep the store running smoothly. And he hardly interact with customers. I was trying to speak with him and he walked away.

Message: I received exceptional service from Mary Alice, in the floral department. My husband and I were looking for some flowers on Mother’s Day at about 4:00 We spoke with some other women (she had a manager demeanor about her) we were interested in the flowers behind the partition, well this woman was extremely rude, telling us that those flowers were only for arrangements. We were ready to leave and go elsewhere till Mary Alice offered us her help; asking us what flowers we wanted, she made us a beautiful bouquet with lilies and roses. Because of Mary Alice I have a refreshed opinion of the Safeway on Duval Mine.

Message: They take forever to get items in that most stores have no problem with, like good berries and bananas, tea, fresh salmon, Liver, etc.. any other Safeway we can find those items easily!

Message: They used to be excellent but since Albertons bought them, they aren't as good. And you are almost forced to use their glitchy self checkout because there are hardly and full service registers ever open and when they are open, the line is extremely long. Management should recognize that those long lines mean that many don't want to do self checkout. The staff is still great.

Message: Expensive Offers!. Same offers than another saveways but different prices. For example *cheese offer this week* could be $1. 77 in another stores, but this store has it for $2. 77.. A dollar more! Try to avoid this store if you can! The self checkout computers are always calling for assistance with not reason!
